Our Story

We met in Ayia Napa in September 2004 when Carolyn's holiday with two friends to Rhodes was canceled last minute and a replacement holiday booked the following day.

The girls ended up staying in the same apartment complex as Colin and his friend and after a little persuading by the girls they went dancing one night. After that most evenings we all went out for meals together.

On returning to the UK, we kept in touch by text, email and phone. Colin's first trip over to visit Carolyn included a trip to St Andrews where Colin announced that he wished he had brought his clubs! Since then Carolyn has introduced Colin to the Scottish midge (first encountered on a camping trip to Skye) and Colin has broadened Carolyn's sporting knowledge, introducing her to hockey, golf and rugby.

When Colin retired from the police force in April 2009, he moved over to Scotland, and on Carolyn's birthday last year he proposed.
